Key to the City Awarded to NYSFTD Founder Fernando Mateo for Decades of Advocacy and Leadership.

On Monday December 30, 2025 NYC Mayor Eric Adams honored the Legacy of NYSFTD Founder, Chairman and Spokesman Fernando Mateo for his long-standing contributions to the TLC community as well as numerous other achievements throughout his 40-year career by handing him the Key to the City; recognizing his commitment to safety and the well-being of the respective industries he vigorously advocates on behalf of.

Mateo, accompanied by his family, closest collaborators, and members of the TLC and Bodega community, received the City’s Highest Honor from Mayor Adams days before the end of his tenure as Mayor, citing his desire to “recognize & highlight the incredible years of service and commitment to the greater good of New York…”

Congratulations Mr. Mateo! Cheers to the great work you continue to do on behalf of millions of New Yorkers day in and day out.
